Disclosure and Disclaimers

Hello! Here is where I’ll disclose all of the evil nefarious schemes I get up to in order to make money.

Because I’ll be honest, I started this blog to make money.

I know that’s “uncool” to say these days. Because money is evil. And we’re all supposed to do everything for the passion. Don’t get me wrong. I am truly passionate about this Butternut Squash Soup. It would just also be really great if I could make money whilst enjoy the making and eating of it.

This scintillating Disclosure Policy is valid as of October 10, 2019 and covers the below social channels owned and managed by Sugar with Spice:

I’m saying all this because the FTC made me, and I’m really trying to abide by their Guidelines. So here goes…

  • Sugar with Spice accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions, affiliate link commissions, or other forms of compensation.
  • Many of my posts contain affiliate links. Any purchase through these links may result in a small commission for me (yay!). This will not affect your purchasing experience or price. All posts with affiliate links contain this disclaimer at the top: This post may contain affiliate links. If you click on these links and make purchases, I may receive a small commission. I only link to products I genuinely trust and recommend. Thank you for your support.
  • I hate lying. I haven’t really lied about anything since that time I hid my 3rd grade report card in the pantry trashcan under some old frozen waffles. (Did not end well for me.) So, if I don’t like a product, I won’t waste your time with it. If I really hate a product, I will absolutely waste your time by telling you all the ways it is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. Ever. (Except beets. Nothing is is worse than beets.)
  • On the flip side, if I love something, I will absolutely share it with you. Every product, service, blog, technique etc. that I recommend on this blog is something I love and use. I share it because you might think it’s pretty great too. I only promote something if I think it’s worth the time it takes me to write a positive review in the first place.
  • I’m really hoping some day someone pays me to write a review of their product on my own blog. (I view this as the epitome of success and after that I will become an energy being.) A post of this sort is called a sponsored post and in the event that I do achieve this level of transcendence, I will clearly mark the page as paid content before I join the higher plane of existence.
  • My views and opinions should not be taken as either law or word of God (darn it.) Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
  • The owner believes in honesty of relationship, opinion, and identity. Uh…sure, yes. Relationships should always be honest. Think I covered the honest opinion part in bullet #1. As for identity…there seems to be alot of identity questioning in our society as of 2019. But at least we’re all honest about it?
  • All the views and opinions and general meaningless drivel posted on this blog are mine and mine alone. Except in the rare case when I share Daisy’s opinion. In which case it will be clearly marked as Daisy’s opinion. (And if you are taking opinions and advice from my cat, may I suggest you invest in one of your own? Adopt don’t shop!)
  • This blog contains no content that might present a conflict of interest. I’m not sure with whose interests I may be conflicting, but definitely not mine. (Perhaps Daisy’s? If I am working on this blog then I am not petting or feeding her in which case this whole blog definitely conflicts with her interests.)

I adapted this disclosure policy (obviously) from http://www.disclosurepolicy.org. If you have any questions, please contact me. I will probably be just as confused as you.
